Misconception!!!

Eat LOW GLYCEMIC!!  The glycemic index is how fast foods affect your insulin/blood sugar level.

Here is what I hear ALL the time: “Kim, I eat really healthy! For breakfast I eat a banana, some granola and a yogurt, its not many calories.”  My reply, ” Oh great!  You just told me you eat gluten, sugar and dairy every morning.” None of these things are good for you. It sounds like a very healthy breakfast but its not!

As far as the calories go, DO NOT COUNT THEM. But calories DO count.  Meaning they are a marker for what a male/female should have daily but should not determine WHAT you are eating.  BALANCE should determine what you are eating.

Eat LOW GLYCEMIC!!  Avoid bananas unless you are exercising at a high intensity, not walking your dog but vigorous!
