I am am the proud owner of a new Nutribullet Pro and today I saw an episode of Dr. Oz (which I rarely watch but for some reason God lead me to it today instead of listening to my usual music!). This episode talked about sugar content in foods and exposing sugar bombs in foods that are otherwise considered as healthy. The amount of sugar, specifically fructose found in a 4 freshly juiced apples was alarming and it got me thinking about the difference between juicing and blending. I found this site that explains juicing vs. blending in good detail: http://simplegreensmoothies.com/tips/juicing-vs-blending-whats-the-difference.
Another thing mentioned on the Dr Oz show was that eating 4 apples is much harder than drinking the juice of 4 apples. The amount of fiber found in apples gives a “feeling full” sensation and typically causes us to stop eating but when the juice is extracted from apples, this juice, which is absent the fiber content, does not provide the same “I am full” sensation.
